The Northey Worrallo residence required extensive modification in order to meet an ecologically conscious design brief. Respect toward the context of its suburban street setting and established boundary setbacks led to retainment of the original cottage and garage. Due to its North facing aspect each of the two new pavilions designed to adjoin the cottage have North facing clerestory style roof and window systems to assist natural ventilation, and provide the passive solar benefits of winter sunshine and summer shading.
